I discovered this marinade recipe many years ago. It is very good and tastes especially good in combination with New York Strip Steak.

The New York Strip is deliciously grilled, but when you top it with a flavor-enhancing marinade, it’s delicious! This recipe definitely, and Sure you will agree.

This marinade originally came from a recipe booklet that came with me when I bought a grill about 15 years ago. The magazine was called Barbeque Genius and contained this steak marinade by Ted Wetzel. Ted was a dedicated BBQ specialist!

The marinade is specially made for the New York steak. It is easy to put together simple ingredients that are often staples in the kitchen and add just the right flavor to a grilled strip steak.

What is the best steak?
I used to buy my meat-based solely on price. However, I quickly learned that cheaper is never better when it comes to choosing your steak.

I struggled to cook a juicy, tender steak and thought it was just my cooking time or heat level. But of course, these are factors, but when you start with a cheap piece of meat, there is little you can do to turn it into a juicy main course.

The more expensive cuts are always the tenderest and tastiest. The tenderness of your grilled steak is mainly due to the meat.

It is best to spend a little more money to get a good piece of meat that becomes juicy and tender on the grill. The best steaks come from the middle of the cow. Short sirloin steaks and sirloin steaks are considered the best.

The Quality of Beef
High-quality beef usually comes from meat (castrated Hanko). You can generally find these cuts in restaurants and grocery stores.

Sometimes, parts of old dairy cows can no longer produce milk. These cuts are mainly used in the fast-food industry. The most tender cuts come from the lumbar and rib section.

Think of Beef Varieties
Another aspect to keep in mind when choosing your steak is the quality of the beef. Beef that is available to the consumer is divided into four main classes.

The criteria for the different attributes are taste, juiciness, and tenderness – and these factors correlate with the “marbling” in the cut.

Marbling is the fat content, and when there is a little marbling, the steak does not become as juicy, tender, or tasty as a cut with more marbling.
